Official rules
Last updated: June 25, 2026
By joining Eclypse BaseWars, every player acknowledges that they have read these rules and agrees to follow them.
Not knowing a rule is not an excuse. The rules may be changed at any time to adapt to how the server evolves.
1. General conduct
1.1 Respect for players
Any behavior intended to deliberately harm another player's experience is forbidden.
In particular, the following are forbidden:
- Serious or repeated insults.
- Insults targeting a player's family or loved ones.
- Racist, homophobic, xenophobic, sexist or discriminatory remarks.
- Threats, harassment and repeated provocation.
- Remarks deliberately meant to spark political, religious or community conflicts.
- Sharing personal information about another player.
Context, intent and repetition will be taken into account by the moderation team.
1.2 Voice chat
Abusive or disruptive use of the microphone is forbidden.
In particular, the following are forbidden:
- Soundboards.
- Voice changers.
- Playing music through the microphone.
- Screaming, deliberately excessive noise and repeated mic saturation.
- Voice spam.
1.3 Names and nicknames
Nicknames, faction names and other customizable elements must remain readable and respectful.
Names containing insulting, discriminatory, provocative or misleading content, or referring to extremist organizations, are forbidden.
2. Cheating, bugs and external software
Any form of cheating is strictly forbidden.
This includes in particular:
- Cheating software.
- Scripts that give an unfair advantage.
- Macros.
- Autoclickers.
- Modifications that let you see or shoot through normally opaque elements.
- Deliberately exploiting a bug.
- Duplicating money, items or entities.
- Bypassing a limitation set by the server.
- Sharing or hiding an exploit method.
When a player discovers a bug or flaw, they must immediately stop using it and report it to the server team.
Taking advantage of a bug, even without external software, is considered exploitation.
3. General gameplay rules
3.1 Fair play
Every player must keep a reasonable, fair-play attitude.
Deliberately looking for a loophole in the wording of the rules to gain a clearly unfair advantage is forbidden.
3.2 Boosting
Boosting is forbidden.
The following are considered boosting:
- Letting yourself be killed or raided on purpose.
- Staging fake raids to transfer resources.
- Buying production entities to give them to another player.
- Using a second account to produce, store or transfer resources.
- Deliberately giving rewards, items or resources to bypass normal progression.
- Temporarily joining a faction only to transfer resources to it or bypass a limitation.
Normal, reasonable trades between players remain allowed as long as they are not used to bypass progression.
3.3 Unarmed players
Killing an unarmed player who poses no threat, without reason, is forbidden.
This rule does not apply in the following situations:
- During a raid the player is taking part in.
- In self-defense.
- When a player enters a base despite a warning.
- When a player draws or uses a weapon.
- When a player actively takes part in a hostile action.
Giving a weapon to a player for the sole purpose of then killing them is forbidden.
3.4 Use of props
The following are forbidden:
- Prop kill.
- Abusive prop push.
- Prop fly.
- Prop surf.
- Prop climb.
- Using a prop to reach a normally inaccessible spot.
- Using a prop to pass through or bypass a defense.
- Deliberately blocking a player with a prop.
- Deliberately creating abusive collisions.
3.5 Shooting through elements
It is forbidden to shoot through:
- Props.
- Walls.
- Opaque doors.
- Decorative elements.
- Textures that let you see without being seen.
Shooting through a window is allowed only when the game engine normally lets projectiles pass through it.
3.6 Alliances
Official or hidden alliances between factions are forbidden.
The following are considered an alliance:
- Regularly defending another faction.
- Taking part in its raids.
- Storing its resources.
- Sharing a base or an outpost.
- Coordinating to attack the same target.
- Helping each other to bypass player or progression limits.
Occasional trade interactions do not automatically constitute an alliance.
4. Bases and builds
4.1 Base organization
A base starts at the first door belonging to the player or their faction.
All players permanently using the same base must belong to the same faction.
Members of the same faction must use a shared base, unless allowed by a specific server system.
It is forbidden to:
- Farm outside your base.
- Build a base on a roof.
- Go beyond the physical limits of the building.
- Build in a public area.
- Take over an area that blocks normal player movement.
- Kill a player from a base that is not yours, except during a raid or in self-defense.
4.2 Visibility of builds
All elements of a defense must be clearly visible.
It is forbidden to use:
- Invisible props.
- Almost fully transparent props.
- Mirror-type textures.
- One-Way Props or One-Way Mirrors.
- Materials that let you see without being seen.
- Builds that abnormally hide a player's hitbox.
A defender must not be able to shoot an attacker without exposing a reasonable part of their own hitbox.
4.3 Passages and access
A base's access points must remain usable within the limits set by the server.
It is forbidden to:
- Use a bank, a printer or an entity to block a passage.
- Create a passage impossible to use without a bug.
- Create a defense relying on invisible collision.
- Use a television as a defensive element.
- Deliberately block a door with an entity.
4.4 Turrets and Tesla
Turrets must be placed inside the base. They may fire outward when a target legitimately enters their field of view.
Tesla traps must not damage players located outside the base.
The owner must check their range before activating them.
4.5 Outposts
A faction may own only one active outpost.
It is forbidden to:
- Place printers or production entities in an outpost.
- Use an outpost as a second permanent base.
- Place several outposts for the same raid.
- Build an outpost in the same building as the raid target, except at a spot explicitly allowed by the server.
The conditions required to create an outpost must be met as indicated in-game.
5. Raid rules
5.1 Launch conditions
A raid may only be launched when the conditions set by the server system are met.
The exact minimum levels will be specified here once confirmed:
- Minimum attacker level: 600
- Minimum target level: 600
- Conditions for factions: a faction may launch or undergo a raid only if it has at least one member of level 600 or higher connected in the base. The presence of one eligible member makes the entire faction eligible for the raid. Members who joined the faction after the raid started may not take part in it
For factions, this protection applies only when all members of the targeted faction are between Prestige 0 and 3.
As soon as a member of the targeted faction is Prestige 4 or higher, the protection no longer applies.
5.2 Balancing participants
A faction may not launch a raid with an excessive numbers advantage.
The gap between the number of attackers and defenders may not exceed two players.
Players who are in a faction but not actually taking part in the raid may still be counted when they provide a direct or indirect advantage.
Temporarily leaving or joining a faction to get around this rule is forbidden.
5.3 Raidable base
A base may be raided as soon as it contains at least one real production entity or a printer.
A bank alone does not make a base eligible for a raid.
Deliberately removing, selling, transferring or destroying your printers when a raid is announced or clearly imminent is forbidden.
It is also forbidden to avoid a raid by:
- Leaving the server.
- Changing faction.
- Transferring your resources.
- Moving your entities out of the base.
- Using a second account.
- Hastily selling your production or equipment.
- Exploiting an error in the raid system.
5.4 During the raid
During a raid:
- Only raid participants may be attacked.
- Outside players must not intervene.
- Distracting, blocking, healing or helping either side is forbidden.
- Placing, moving or removing props is forbidden.
- Modifying your defense is forbidden.
- Moving your production entities is forbidden.
- Deliberately canceling the raid only because the situation turns unfavorable is forbidden.
- Joining or leaving a faction to change the raid balance is forbidden.
An outside player who deliberately enters the combat zone despite warnings may be sanctioned and must not be used as a shield.
5.5 Base area
During a raid, the inside of the targeted base is considered a hostile zone.
Outside of a raid, an owner may ask a player to leave their base. The warning may be written or spoken.
If the player refuses to leave or keeps advancing into the base, the owner may kill them.
The warning must be understandable and give the player a reasonable amount of time to leave, except in case of an immediate threat.
5.6 Doors and Fading Doors
Doors and fading doors may be used to enter or leave the base normally.
It is forbidden to:
- Spam opening or closing them.
- Deliberately close a door on a player.
- Use a door to deal damage.
- Quickly open and close a door to shoot without exposing yourself.
- Artificially block an attacker with a door.
- Close an opening only to stop a push already underway.
A door may be closed again once the attacker has been eliminated and no other attacker is immediately entering.
5.7 Bombs, nukes and explosives
Bombs and nukes must be placed inside the targeted base.
It is forbidden to:
- Place a bomb in front of an entrance.
- Block a spawn point with a bomb.
- Use a bomb to get past a defense.
- Stand on a bomb to reach an inaccessible area.
- Abusively push, move, arm or defuse the other side's bomb.
- Hide a bomb in an unreachable spot.
- Place several big bombs at the same time.
Only one big bomb may be active at a time:
- A nuke or a big bomb.
- A C4 may be used in addition, within the limits set by the server.
5.8 Dispensers
Repeated, abusive use of armor dispensers and health dispensers during a fight is forbidden.
They may be used normally, but must not be used to make a player practically invincible through continuous or automated use.
5.9 Spawn killing during a raid
Abusive spawn killing is forbidden.
It is only tolerated when directly necessary to reach or destroy an enemy spawn point.
Once the spawn point is destroyed or made inaccessible, the attackers must continue the raid normally and may not stay there solely to kill players as they respawn.
5.10 Delay between raids
A minimum delay of one hour must be respected before attacking the same person or faction again.
This delay still applies even in case of:
- Changing faction.
- Changing nickname.
- Using another group.
- Indirect participation in the new raid.
Repeated raids meant only to prevent a faction from playing or rebuilding are forbidden.
6. Events
Instructions given by organizers and staff members during an event must be followed.
It is forbidden to:
- Deliberately disrupt an event.
- Kill participants without permission.
- Block access points.
- Steal or move event elements.
- Exploit a loophole in the temporary rules.
- Join only to sabotage how the event unfolds.
A player who deliberately disrupts an event may be removed from it and sanctioned.
In case of repeat offenses, the sanction may be increased.
7. Reports, evidence and sanctions
7.1 Reporting a player
When no staff member is available in-game, a ticket can be opened on the official Discord.
The report should ideally include:
- The SteamID of the player involved.
- A video or screenshots.
- The approximate date and time.
- A clear description of the situation.
- Any witnesses.
Complete video evidence is strongly recommended. A clip that is deliberately cut or taken out of context may be rejected.
Server logs, direct staff observations and other technical elements may also be used as evidence.
7.2 Behavior in tickets
Tickets must remain respectful.
The following behaviors may lead to the ticket being closed and an additional sanction:
- Deliberate lying.
- Falsifying evidence.
- Insults.
- Threats.
- Provocation.
- Spam.
- Obvious bad faith.
- Trying to pressure a staff member.
7.3 Applying sanctions
Sanctions are determined based on:
- The seriousness of the offense.
- The player's history.
- Repeat offenses.
- The player's intent.
- The impact on other players.
- The player's cooperation during the intervention.
Sanctions may include:
- A warning notice.
- A formal warning.
- A jail.
- A mute or gag.
- Removal of entities or resources obtained abusively.
- A temporary ban.
- A permanent ban.
- A partial or full progression reset in case of serious exploitation.
A separate sanctions chart may supplement these rules.
7.4 Appeals
A sanction can be appealed by opening a ticket on the official Discord.
Appealing a sanction does not guarantee it will be canceled.
An appeal must present new evidence, an identifiable mistake or a serious explanation. Repeated requests with no new element may be refused.
8. Final provisions
Any situation not explicitly described in the rules will be assessed based on:
- Fair play.
- The normal functioning of the game.
- The players' intent.
- The balance of the server.
- The impact of the action on other players.
The moderation team cannot invent an offense after the fact, but it may step in against behavior that is clearly abusive or aimed at deliberately circumventing the rules.
These rules may be changed at any time. Players are responsible for keeping up with updates.
